MCC BIOSECURITY SERVICES The fourth company in the group, MCC Biosecurity Services, focuses on industry-authorized officers operating under Australia’s Export Act. “The government released certain scopes of work to private industry, and we represent the department (DAFF) or work on their behalf in a sense, protecting Australia’s reputation with its trading partners” Weiller explains. “We set up this company to fill a gap in the market, and now it’s inundated with demand – A difficult business to run, expensive and heavily regulated.” INNOVATING WITH JOBKEEPER The MCC Group has developed an advanced in-house system called JobKeeper to support its complex operations across multiple locations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and workforce management. “We started developing the JobKeeper system about four years ago,” Weiller explains. “It was fine-tuned through COVID, and that’s where the name comes from—it kept us alive, just like the government’s JobKeeper program did for Australia, helping us maintain stability and continuity during uncertain times.” The JobKeeper system is a custom-built platform designed to seamlessly manage job numbers, ship names and schedules, personnel assignments, timesheets, and sales records across all company locations. The system enhances operational efficiency while reducing administrative burdens by centralizing these critical functions. “Each office runs independently and autonomously,” Weiller notes. “They don’t rely on a head office system to do everything. Instead, the platform generates job numbers, assigns personnel, tracks working hours, and manages compliance in real time, providing full transparency across our entire operation.” Beyond operational logistics, JobKeeper also serves as a comprehensive employee management system, ensuring that workforce needs are met efficiently and proactively.“It handles everything from uniform orders to compliance safety checks and license 7 BUSINESS VIEW OCEANIA VOLUME 07, ISSUE 03 THE MCC GROUP

This allows us to take proactive measures, redistribute workloads, and prioritize safety without disrupting operations.” CONFIDENCE IN THE FUTURE Looking ahead, Weiller is confident in the company’s trajectory. “Sky’s the limit for us,” he says. “We have a leadership team of four people whom I trust very much, including my new CFO and General Counsel, previously head of legal at a major bank in Hong Kong and strong ties with national accounting firm. He was my private advisor for three years before joining us. My GM was a friend for 10 years before coming on board, and another GM has been with us for two years now as we develop strong lifelong relationships. The reason I mention this is because I’m nothing without them. They need to know that, and I’m very vocal about it.” The MCC Group is preparing for significant industry changes and closely monitoring regulatory shifts.“We have a federal election coming up, and depending on how that goes, we’ll adjust accordingly,” Weiller notes. “But regardless of external factors, we will keep pushing forward.” A key aspect of the company’s long-term growth strategy is, slow but sure expansion model.“We don’t just send one person to a location, hand them a 9 BUSINESS VIEW OCEANIA VOLUME 07, ISSUE 03 THE MCC GROUP
