The beginning of each year is widely considered a time for individuals, stakeholders, and businesses alike to set goals, generate ideas, and plan holistically for their next stage of development. The National Australian Bank (NAB) has defined six key factors that they believe businesses across the Australian region should consider in order to develop successfully in 2022. They are: 1. Be strategic about growth 2. Have a risk-management plan 3. Nurture your workforce 4. Make yourself a skills magnet 5. Embrace innovation 6. Understand customers intimately With this in mind, let us take a closer look at some feature companies and associations that are embodying these factors. A Holistic view on Sustainability- Environment, Culture, Economy, and more. In this issue, Business View Oceania presents a range of businesses and organisations that operate with sustainability always front-of-mind. Beginning with our Technology View, we feature two associations: BioMelbourne Network and FinTech Australia. BioMelbourne Network is a community of health researchers, academia, manufacturers, and industry affiliates with one common goal- to further the establishment of the state of Victoria as a leading health research hub for Australia and the world. FinTech Australia is the peak advocacy body for the financial technology industry in Australia, supporting over 400 company members across the sector. Australian Essential Services Group (AESG) represents the Facilities Management sector for this issue. AESG was founded in 1996 to provide Australia’s managed property industry with a world class building consultancy provider that approaches all projects with safety as their number-one priority. Moving into our Construction view, we highlight LGC Group (LGC). LGC is a 100% Western Australian owned and operated company that has worked since their establishment in 2014 to service the Western Australian region in traffic management, road safety, and equipment hire. Our Clean and Green sector in this issue focuses on Midway Ltd (Midway). Midway have been on the forestry scene since 1984 and have grown over time to become Australia’s largest high-quality woodfibre processor and exporter. Finally, we conclude this issue with Vinyl Council Australia (VCA) and Elite Security Screens and Doors (Elite), for our Manufacturing View. VCA are a member-based association that work to represent Australia’s vinyl (PVC) industry throughout the value chain. The organisation was born out of need for environmental responsibility representation and education for the sector and its stakeholders, and now supports 110 members from Australia and overseas. Elite have been a leader in Australia’s security screen manufacturing industry for nearly 40 years. They are a family-owned business that fosters traditional values enhanced with modern technology and innovation. That’s it from us for January. Be well, stay safe, and as always… Enjoy the Read!
