As we went through the process to become carbon neutral certified in 2021, we beefed up the development and streamlining of our online processes. We also extended our policy of locally based field staff in regional centres, so we were able to continue to provide services to clients across regional zones with differing COVID restrictions and the move to remote work for our administrative functions wasn’t as difficult for us as it was for some of our competitors.” AESG achieved their goal to become the first Australian fire safety services organisation to be certified carbon neutral in 2021- an accomplishment that differentiates them in the market significantly. In addition to this certification, the company identifies themselves through their heightened collaboration with clients and industry stakeholders. Beckett explains, “We’re probably regarded as being more collaborative than some of our competitors. We are an auditing company, so if something doesn’t meet the requirements, we will obviously highlight it. But it’s not the end of the conservation from our end. We will work with our clients to help them to resolve their issues and show them what they can do to continue improving their own compliance practices.” AESG’s approach to collaboration and communication is further highlighted when Beckett says “We are very lucky to have an amazing client group. They take their compliance responsibilities seriously and work with our qualified compliance staff to help their organisations achieve the required compliance levels. Part of this success is our deliberately open and transparent communication with our clients and part is educating the clients and their staff about their actual responsibilities”. He continues stating that “a number of new clients that we onboard state that they have had quite adversarial relationships with their auditors in the past which can create an environment of resistance to compliance. We consider our approach to be different and believe it results in more of a partnership as a trusted advisor to our clients”. AESG’s use of technology has helped drive them into a prominent position within Australia’s independent, property auditing sector. From offsite technology supporting client portals, information distribution, and cloud storage through to on site software like QR codes and compliance tracking, ASEG uses their equipment and expertise to deliver quality consultancy to PREFERRED VENDOR/ PARTNER n Tru Fire Protection https://trufireprotection.com.au their clients every time. Beckett elaborates, “We have had some great innovations developed over the last few years that includes our ‘AESG Building Passports’ product, which allow clients to set up and construct profiles of their own buildings. The Building Passport profiles can include things like building plans and drawings, occupancy permits, emergency evacuation plans, and other site-specific information that can then be easily accessed via QR codes by the building owners, tenants, staff, or emergency services as appropriate.” Looking to the future, AESG plans to continue to develop their reach across Australia, building up their presence across all industries in each state and territory. Further service creation and innovation is also on the cards. AESG will continue to enact their plan for sustainability in a broad and long-term sense, considering all areas of environmental, economic, cultural, and social responsibility. Beckett concludes, “We’re well positioned. We feel a huge amount of gratitude towards our clients and their communities. It has been a challenging period for everyone over the last couple of years and we have been very, very fortunate. We will keep doing what we do well, and we’ll develop areas that could see some enhancement. We plan to continue to build up our regional client base and employ local workers in their own area. Our future looks bright, and I am excited to see where our industry goes moving forward and how AESG can continue to assist our clients”
