A SCHOOL WITH DEEP ROOTS AND A CLEAR VISION The history of Tenison Woods College is a story of connection. Before the year 1972, the Mount Gambier site was home to separate Catholic schools—a Mercy school for girls and a Marist Agricultural College for boys. Their amalgamation marked a new chapter of collaboration and inclusivity, one that brought together diverse traditions under a shared mission, and evolved to become a reception to year 12 school in 2000. In 2014, the addition of the Early Learning Centre expanded the college’s reach from the earliest years through to Year 12, creating a seamless educational journey for students and families. Now home to 1,756 students across four sub-schools, Tenison Woods is a thriving hub of learning where every stage of development—spiritual, academic, emotional, and social—is intentionally supported. “Ultimately, we keep things simple so that our young ones understand what we stand for,” Mezinec explains.“Every learner has a place—meaning every student belongs.
