Welcome to November, everyone. As 2021 begins to draw to a close, let’s look back on some notable (and positive!) events that have occurred around the globe:
- The first double arm and shoulder transplant was successfully performed in France.
- The first Malaria vaccine was endorsed by the World Health Organization.
- The world-renowned Eurovision Song Contest was finally held after being postponed since 2020.
- The African Continental Free Trade Area came into effect.
- The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons came into effect.
- ‘Chimera embryos’ were successfully created in Japan, by injecting human stem cells into monkey embryos.
- Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity was confirmed after light was directly observed from behind a black hole for the first time in history.
- NASA landed their Mars 2020 mission after seven months of space travel.
- The first powered flight on Mars was achieved by NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter.
- Earth Day was marked clearly by world leaders during the virtual Climate Change Summit.
Our world continues to experience exponential growth in technological research, advancement, and innovation. When we look at the above events and achievements, which are just a small excerpt from a plethora of international successes seen so far in 2021, it is clear that the way forward will be paved by our use and development of technology.
Technological Innovation in Industries of all kinds!
Business View Oceania has long been in support of businesses and organizations making appropriate use of technology to further their respective agendas. During this issue, we highlight innovative ventures undertaken by companies and associations in our Food and Beverage, Facilities Management, Clean and Green, and Manufacturing sectors.
Starting off our issue in the Food and Beverage sector is New Zealand’s Meat Industry Association (MIA). MIA is an incorporated society that supports processors, exporters, and associate members throughout New Zealand’s red meat industry as their peak governing body.
Moving into the Facilities Management sphere, we feature Custom Technology Systems and INTAKS New Zealand. Custom Technology Systems is New Zealand’s entrance security systems specialist. Founded in 1998, the company has worked over the last 33 years to design, supply, and integrate electronic security systems that protect staff and patrons in a number of industry areas. INTAKS New Zealand, led by Managing Director Peter Chapman and General Manager Joel Warren, provide world-class scaffolding and edge protection solutions to the New Zealand market.
Our Clean and Green sector this issue introduces three green businesses operating in the New Zealand market: Living Green Group, Cable Logging Geraldine, and CMH Contracting. Living Green Group is New Zealand’s leading manufacturer of natural products. They provide an incredibly extensive range of home, pet, baby, skin, and health care products to suit a range of clients’ needs whilst protecting the integrity of our global environment. Cable Logging Geraldine is a small yet highly skilled operation that has worked on the steep slopes of Geraldine, South Canterbury, since their founding in 2001. CMH Contracting has serviced the Bay of Plenty region for 22 years. Operating within the world-renowned Kaingaroa forest, CMH Contracting fosters core values that surround flexibility, trust, productivity, and equality.
We conclude our issue for November with two fantastic manufacturing companies for our Manufacturing View: Be Floored, and Germax Interiors. A leader innovation for Australian engineered timber flooring, Be Floored offers comprehensive timber solutions that are long lasting, cost effective, and supported by environmental best practices.
