LinkedIn has published their Jobs on the Rise list for 2022, highlighting roles that are growing in demand across a variety of Australian sectors. In their release, LinkedIn states, “…this list provides insight into where the workforce is heading and where long-term opportunity lies- whether you’re looking to make a career pivot, get back into the workforce or invest in skills that will prepare you for the future. To be ranked, jobs needed to see consistent growth across our membership base, as well as have grown to a meaningful size by 2021. Most importantly, this list is a glimpse of what’s on the horizon: uncovering where the future of work is going and where long-term opportunities await.”

The 15 highlighted roles include:

Business Insider Australia reports, “LinkedIn recorded a 60% increase in job posts mentioning flexibility since 2019, along with a staggering 313% surge in company posts mentioning flexibility. Company culture also emerged as a focus for LinkedIn users; the global report revealed that company posts that mentioned culture received a 34% engagement boost.”

The list comes as a response to dramatic changes in global work trends following the COVID-19 pandemic, an increased focus on environmental responsibility, and the Great Reshuffle. LinkedIn has identified the Great Reshuffle as a surge in professionals leaving their jobs in search of something new- and a greater focus on career and industry development for those who choose to stay.
